Children's Services
Organizations throughout Rhode Island, including the RICADV’s member agencies, can provide emergency support services, including shelter and counseling, to victims of domestic violence and their children.
Please call the Helpline at 1-800-494-8100 for information on available services, or contact a local member agency directly.
To learn more about children and domestic violence, visit the Children Who Witness section of our website.
DCYF & the Safe Families Collaboration Project
Because being exposed to domestic violence is harmful to children, Rhode Island’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) will sometimes become involved in a domestic violence case if they believe it is necessary to make sure the children are safe.
The Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center, a member agency of the RICADV, works in conjunction with DCYF through the Safe Families Collaboration Project to help victims of domestic violence in these situations.
