How do I access the Recite Me toolbar?
You can open the Recite Me language and accessibility toolbar by clicking on the “Accessibility Tools” button, which appears in the top-right corner on every page of the RICADV, SOAR, NoMoreRI and Helpline websites.
After you click on the “Accessibility Tool” button, the Recite Me toolbar opens and displays a range of different tools you can use to customize how the site appears to you, based on your needs and preferences.
Recite Me web accessibility and language toolbar
Disability or language fluency shouldn’t be a barrier to safety, which is why the RICADV and the network of member agencies have added the “Recite Me” accessibility and language toolbar to our websites to improve accessibility to domestic violence resources for all Rhode Islanders.
This feature helps the 1 in 4 people in the U.S. who have a disability, including visual impairments and dyslexia, access statewide resources in the ways that suit them best. Website visitors are now able to adjust text size and font, hear webpage content read out loud and change website colors, among other customizable changes.
Recite Me also meets the needs of the 67 million people in the U.S. whose primary language is not English, translating our web content into over 100 different languages and featuring a built-in dictionary for any highlighted word.
