Gillian Palmer, Coordinator of Law Enforcement Training

Gillian Palmer joined the RICADV in June of 2023 as the Coordinator of Law Enforcement Training. In this role, she schedules and facilitates law enforcement trainings with a victim- and survivor-centered approach. She brings to the role the tools and skills learned throughout her education, such as needs assessment, program evaluations, and ethical research. Gillian graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in May of 2022 with her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). She then moved on to graduate from Rhode Island College in May of 2023 with her Master of Social Work with a Macro concentration (MSW). In her college career she spent the majority of her time completing research and studying law enforcement responses to domestic violence as well as the effectiveness of their training. She has a passion for understanding systems and advocating for change, specifically related to the criminal justice and legal system, domestic violence, and sexual assault. Outside of work, Gillian enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going to the beach, being creative, and exploring new places.
