Meaghan White, Policy and Data Specialist
Meaghan White is the Policy and Data Specialist at the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Meaghan joined the team in 2022 shortly after graduating from Rhode Island College (RIC) with a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Nonprofit Leadership. In their current role, Meaghan monitors the R.I. legislature tracking bills as they are introduced and conducts research to support our legislative advocacy. They also maintain the domestic violence homicide database and assists with data analysis from the client services database, EmpowerDB. Meaghan’s dedication to social justice started at the undergraduate level as a BSW intern at working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and was involved in this line of work for a decade. This work included advocating for clients’ rights and connecting them with community resource. Their passion for social justice continued to grow through their work with the Trans Health Access Team at Thundermist Health Center, and their MSW internship at Roger Williams University working with the Title IX Office and Health and Wellness Education program. In their free time, Meaghan enjoys going to Rhode Island Comic Con. They also enjoy watching sitcoms and various fantasy shows as well as hiking and cuddling with their dogs.
