Successful launch received national support

Third conversation (2/22) in the #NOMORERI Tweet Chat Series: a three-day social media event about healthy relationships led by survivors of dating violence. It is part of the NO MORE RI campaign for Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. The final topic is "Breaking the Cycle of Abuse" and explores the ongoing effects of abuse on children who witness.

The #NOMORERI Tweet Chat Series focuses on healthy relationships and includes personal stories and time to "chat" with members of SOAR (Sisters Overcoming Abusive Relationships) who overcame dating violence. By offering a forum for discussing what a healthy relationship is and isn't, the RICADV's aim is for participants to 1) recognize the signs of abuse and 2) learn strategies for ending, reporting, and getting help for those who may be victims of dating violence.

One in three adolescents in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner.

Clearly, there's a conversation that needs to happen and the RICADV and its task force of dating/domestic violence survivors, SOAR), are using Twitter and Facebook to reach teens and college students where they spend the most free time—online.
